GHS Newsletters

This collection of Groton Historical Society Newsletters spans the years 1988 – the present.

The newsletter was edited by John Willard Benzie, from 1998 until 2022, it is now edited by Louise Reynolds. Each issue is a mix of photographs and text, and includes articles about the history of Groton, Vermont and its residents as well as commentary about historical events of a national and international nature. The newsletter reports on activities of the GHS – meeting minutes, member lists, information on the Peter Paul House etc. It also contains reports of community events such as Groton’s Fall Foliage Day, and Groton High School reunions sharing them with members and for the historic record. Sometimes these newsletters contain excerpts from books published by the GHS, most notably the Civil War Journal of Seth Eastman as well as histories about places and events in Groton.

The index lists topics and the issue in which the topic appears.

Printed copies of the newsletters are available at the Groton Free Public Library and the Peter Paul House as well as here on the website.
